Bible Burst ("we", "us", "our") is a Bible-learning app and website. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We aim to collect the minimum needed to run the service.

We collect account information you provide (such as email address and display name) when you sign up, gameplay progress so we can sync your stats and streaks, and basic device and request metadata (such as approximate region, device type, and crash logs) for reliability and abuse prevention.

We use your information to operate the service, sync your progress across devices, personalize recommendations, prevent abuse, and — only if you opt in — send you occasional product updates by email. We do not sell your personal information.

If you subscribe, we store your email and subscription preferences and use Resend to deliver Bible Burst updates. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. We retain delivery and suppression records to honor unsubscribe requests and prevent repeat sends.

Essential storage supports sign-in, offline progress, and your preferences. Optional usage analytics through PostHog are off until you agree. You can change that choice in Settings on web, iOS, and Android. Analytics may include app interactions and device information; we do not intentionally send private journal text, prayer text, passwords, or messages to analytics. Automatic interaction capture and session replay are disabled. Operational diagnostics through Expo Observe help us understand crashes and performance separately from optional product analytics.

Clerk handles authentication and Convex stores account-linked app data, including private bookmarks and reflections. Expo and the platform notification services deliver enabled notifications. Public community submissions may be processed by Anthropic for automated safety review and by authorized human moderators. Do not include sensitive information in public posts that you do not want other people to see. Study group media is stored in Convex and may be viewed by authorized group members. These providers may process information outside your country.

Bible Burst is appropriate for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can delete it.

You can update or delete your account from in-app settings, unsubscribe from newsletter emails, and request a copy or deletion of your data by contacting us. You may also start an account deletion request at bibleburst.app/account-deletion. Account deletion removes or anonymizes account-linked data, including community content, except for limited records we must retain for security or legal obligations.

Community posts are linked to your account so we can prevent abuse, honor blocking choices, investigate reports, and enforce our rules. Reports are visible only to authorized moderators. Blocking hides content between the two accounts and removes an existing friendship.
